Description: The film consists of three independent episodes: “The Phone,” “Inspection,” and “Four Palms,” linked by the presence of the film crew and the specific atmosphere of the work involved in making a movie. Both on and off the film set, the lives of the production team intersect with those of the characters in the stories, highlighting similarities and discrepancies at the same time.
The loneliness of the young man in the first episode is mirrored in the isolation of the director. The marital drama of the restaurant manager in the second episode evokes a blend of amused compassion and evident condescension within the team. In the end, the confrontation between two extras, former adversaries in a revolutionary historical moment, takes on an unexpected tragic intensity.
Alexandru Tatos’s most personal film is also the most significant in his career.
