Robert Sowa is a director of animated films and a graphics artist. Currently he works as a Director of the Animation Film Studio, Academy of Fine Arts Krakow, Poland, and is a lecturer at the Jagiellonian University, Institute of Audio-Visual Arts, also in Kraków and Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School in Katowice. He is Artistic Director of Animation Film Centre – production studio in Krakow.

In his films, he often explores connections between visual experimentation and sound, and creates his language through the relationship between visual and sonic spaces. His major interest is in expression of human emotions, suspended between the material and the imaginary world. In his animations he combines various techniques such us stop motion, mixed media, lighting, painting, and photography.
