Description: The film is an adaptation of Ion Agărbiceanu’s works, set against the backdrop of the gold mines in the Apuseni Mountains at the beginning of the 20th century. It weaves two distinct narratives: one follows a determined widow struggling to save her ailing daughter (directed by Mircea Veroiu), and the other portrays two wandering singers who abduct a bride from her wedding (directed by Dan Pița). The cast boasts renowned names from Romanian cinema, including Leopoldina Bălănuță, Mircea Diaconu Radu Boruzescu, and George Calboreanu Jr.

Critically acclaimed for its simplicity and powerful storytelling, STONE WEDDING was selected for the Cannes Film Festival in the Semaine de la Critique category in 1973.
